In Memoriam: Bart Driessen
The mushroom industry lost a great friend and colleague last week.
For many years, Bart Driessen worked as an independent consultant to our industry — travelling the world, supporting clients wherever they needed him, helping to make their mushroom business healthier, stronger and more profitable.
Most of us saw him as a consultant, but in reality he was a colleague — a full and valued member of the team. Beyond that, he was also a great and patient teacher. Few people were more generous with their time, or with their knowledge.
Bart was never afraid of a challenge, he always pushed for better — not for himself, but for his family, for the growers he served, and for the colleagues he supported. So, wherever in the world you are, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe or the Americas, raise a glass in his memory, for the mushroom industry has lost a giant.
