Author: S.G. Nanagulyan

Abstract:

The present publication deals with the author’s experiments and gives a comprehensive overview of macrofimgi of Armenia. Many years of research have produced a taxonomical list of Armenian mushrooms consisting of 1182 species of macroscopic fungi, of which several are edible. At present we try to develop a system for production and use of edible mushrooms that will contribute to solving some of the agricultural problems of the countries which have little arable land. The experiments were aimed at the systematics, ecology and biology of this group of mushrooms. They were directed at obtaining mycelium and fruit bodies of edible mushrooms for food and feed purposes. In this paper the present situation and development of research on macroscopic fiingi in Armenia are outlined.
