Title: Trait Diversity in Wild Agaricus bisporus
Author: R.W. Kerrigan
Since the Agaricus Resource Program began recruiting wild germ plasm of Agaricus bisporus in 1988, several hundred unique isolates have been placed in this and other culture collections. It has consequently become possible to assess trait diversity within the global germ plasm resource in a meaningful way. This paper reviews the current state of knowledge of diversity for economically important traits within and among the known wild populations of the species. Cultural, morphological and disease resistance traits will be discussed. In selected examples, biogeographical variation will be noted. Please login to download the PDF for this proceeding.
