Abstract:

Zeng-Chan-Ling is a new kind of growth promoting agent for the fruiting body of mushroom, Agaricus bisporus. The paper discusses the effect of Zeng-Chan-Ling on the yield and quality of mushrooms. The results obtained in the research indicate that the treatment of mushrooms by spraying Zeng-Chan-Ling solution at the stage of primordia formation increased the yield by over 15-20% compared with that of the controls but there was no obvious effect on the quality of the mushrooms. The content of total amino acids was 276.2 mg/lOO g more than the controls. The treatment had no effect on blanching yield in the canning process. According to the statistical analysis, the effect of increasing mushroom yield is significant.
