Abstract:

The present communication concerns the qualitative and quantitative distribution of some soluble nitrogeneous compounds of the Agaricus bvsporus sporophore during its development. Because of the high diversity of the involved metabolites we concentrated the effort on quantifying non or yet little studied molecules of this species: urea, nitrogeneous bases, free nucleosides and nucleotides and also chromogenic aromatic amino acids such as phenylalanine, tyrosine, GHB (Y-glutaminyl-4-hydroxybenzene) and agantine (‘^-glutamyl-4-hydroxymethylphenylhydrazine ). Our results allow to assume the existence of biochemically distinct zones within the sporophore (gills, cap skin, cap trama and stipe) and to regard some of the mentioned compounds as differentiation markers.
