Title: Identification of Environmental Requirements for the Commercial Culture of a Tropical Agaricus Strain
Authors: J.F. Smith and M.E. Love

Abstract:

The commercial potential of a tropical Agaricus was first highlighted at the previous ISMS Congress in Braunschweig, West Germany in 1987. This report outlines continuing research with this strain to determine the necesssary environmental parameters for maximising yield of mushrooms whilst maintaining qualify of the harvested crop. It also discusses the problem of first flush vigour, a characteristic of this new species, its carbon dioxide tolerance during cropping, and its susceptibility to known mushroom pests and diseases.
