Title: The development of a computer simulation model of a mushroom growing tunnel to investigate environmental control

This paper describes the development of a computer simulation model of the type of growing environment found in Irish mushroom tunnels. A first-order dynamical model representing the interaction between temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide concentration is derived and simulated using ACSL (Advanced Continuous Simulation Language). The performance of the model is compared with results from an experimental tunnel. The model is used to investigate a number of simple procedures which may be used in the environmental control of these tunnels.Please login to download the PDF for this proceeding.
