Title: Supplementation of nitrogen in Agaricus compost by agro wastes
Author: N. Bahl

Abstract:

Cheaper sources of nitrogenous fertilizers for crop production are always sought especially in developing countries. Agricultural by-products such as Sesbania aegyptiaca, poultry manure, cotton seed and cow dune were evaluated for their possible use as alternatives to nitrogenous fertilizers for economical cultivation of Agaricus bisporus. Taking quantity of the substitute, volume of the compost, time taken for compost making and yield as parameters, poultry manure was found to be the best.
