Title: Effect of Various Growth Regulators on the Mycelial Yield of Pholiota destruens (Brond) Gillet.
Authors: A. Krishna and B.K. Sharma

Abstract:

The effects of growth regulators from seedling to reproductive stage have been studied widely in higher plants; information about their effect on Agaricus, is meagre and scanty. Cytokinins, auxins and gibberellins have been shown to influence the mycelial growth (Szabo et al., 1972; Chandra, 1974) as well as production of basidiocarp of higher fungi (Aleksandrov, 1964). Fraser (1953) has reported that utilization of Indol-3-acetic acid by Psalliota hortensis was affected in the culture medium. Hence, it was thought desirable to study the effect of growth regulators on the mycelial growth of this agaric.
