Abstract:

Through ages of cultivation, the strain characteristics of A. bisporus has been further comprehended. In China, according to the differences of growing feature, the characteristics of fruit body and the quality after canning, the cultures of mushroom are generally classified into high productive type, easy browning type, medium productive type, good quality type and infertile type (Wang, et al. , 1985). But when a new strain obtained from the monospore isolation, multispore isolation or the hybrid of two different cultures, the strain characteristics can not be known well until a long time of cultivation. If there is a way to predict it at the early mycelium growing stage, the load of breeding work may be reduced and time saved.

Recently, variation at biochemical gene loci has been used in genetic analysis for the confirmation of genetic relationship among strains of A. bisporus (May and Royse, 1982). The stability of genetic marker bands of four different isozyme at different growing stage and the variability of which among different strain of A. bisporus have been studied (Wang et al., 1985). In the present investigation, some strain characteristics of A. bisporus in connection with electrophoretic patterns were studied.
