Title: Studies and Experiments on Mushroom Culture in Taiwan
Author: Cheng-Hwa Huang
Taiwan, a province of the Republic of China, has a subtropic climate. Latitudinally, it lies athwart the Tropic of Cancer. Therefore, the weather is warm all the year round as compared with the northern regions of China. Many agriculturists of mushroom-producing countries used to maintain that mushroom production could not become a big industry in subtropic area like Taiwan. Through years of vigorous efforts, however, we have developed it into an industry of sorts. This is attributable to the successful development of some special formula for mushroom compost and of a simple structure for mushroom houses, and to the support of mushroom growers and packers in the related research work. I would like to make a brief report on what we have done in recent years. Please login to download the PDF for this proceeding.
