Abstract:

Detector tubes for gases are now available from several laboratory supply companies. These tubes are a very convenient and accurate method for detection of gases. Mushroom growers have used them for many years for detection and quantitative estimation of carbon dioxide.

Besides CO, detection of gases were conducted for ethylene, ethyl mercaptan, ozone or oxidant, chlorine, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon dioxide. Positive detection were for ethylene, ozone or oxidant, and carbon dioxide, besides CO.
