Haemonchus contortus (Hc) is an important parasite affecting sheep industry worldwide. The use of anthelmintic drugs is limited by a number of disadvantages in their use; ie, anthelmintic resistance, the public health risk and environmental pollution. Mushrooms possess a number of important nutritional, medicinal and nematocidal properties. The in vitro nematocidal activity of a hydroalcoholic extract (HE) from P. djamor against infective larvae of Hc (L3) was assessed.
